Ello

Summer's gone and I'm a bit gutted. Twas awesome though. Did about 7 or 8 weeks worth of work experience which taught me about 2 things, firstly I'm not that keen on smallies, cows are more fun as are attached to less finnicky owners and there poo doesn't smell as bad. Secondly third year is a long time ago and was probably a total waste of time, because I couldn't remember a thing in practise and anything I could remember seemed totally irrelavant. But work experience was good because I met lots of nice people who live in hereford and don't mind taking me to the pub every now and a again. It's was also the most effective way I've found so far of learning about veterinary stuff.

Also spent 4 weeks in India. I went alone to work in a spay clinic, which probably wasn't the best decision I've made this summer. Luckily there were 2 nice london vets also at the clinic, who were happy to frequent the local trance bars with me. Seeing practise over there was a real eye opener. it was great to see some of the cases which you learn about over here but don't ever really see, like rabies, distemper and parvo. India is also an amazing country.

Also did a few other nice things like leeds festivala and Scotland with quite tall boyfriend.

But now I'm back in bonny Glasgow, which is brilliant. It's great to be back in the city after living in Langford for a year. Really missing the Bristol lot of course, especially all the intercalators on my course. In Glasgow I've joined a new year, which is scarey, but great because there's so many nice new people to meet. Also living with three new flat mates who are ace and like flapjacks.

This week lectures have come a bit thick and fast. We'll be 9 to 5 everyday from now on although some of that tim will be practicals. this morning I was in at 8.30 to learn about premedication, which was a bit harsh, but I only live 2 minutes away, which is great. lectures are also more relavant and link directly to what we see in practise, so it's easier to learn.

Social stuff is all good. went clubbing for the first time in a long time to the (apparently) legendary "Viper" on Sunday. Haven't been back to the homely old union yet, but it's Friday today so who knows or dares to dream.

Ok bye
x
